The New Debx App is Taking the Fear out of Credit Cards

The New Debx App is Taking the Fear out of Credit Cards via Pexels.com Essentially, this free app targets college graduates and millennials and pays off their everyday credit card purchases by linking existing credit cards with checking accounts. This means these individuals are using credit cards like a debit card, which means they reap all the benefits (i.e. rewards and credit building) without the insecurity involved in owning a credit card. As a college student, if you haven’t already, you’ll soon learn the importance of a good credit history. These are important when it comes time to leasing or purchasing a car, renting an apartment or even buying a house. That being said, more and more students are shying away from credit card applications for fear of digging a hole they can’t get out of. According to a recent survey mentioned in the press release, 33% of millennials are afraid of credit card debt. This is shocking given the 20% responding their greatest fear was death. And they aren’t wrong in this fear. Over $1.02 trillion of debt was reached in 2017, with the average American consumer holding $5,290 in credit card balances. This all being said, credit cards are a necessary evil, especially when it comes to building credit. Plus, there are other perks to consider such as reward points, cashback and protection from theft. According to Ben Psillas, the founder of Debx, “When college students graduate, they are often unsure how to build their credit or manage their personal finances, and are maybe even a little intimidated. They leave school with tons of student loans, and they want to avoid getting deeper in debt. But, they need to start building their credit history, and credit cards are one of the best ways to establish that.” The free Debx app allows several options for avoiding the typical, credit card pitfalls. For instance, one big change is the Auto-Pay option, which automatically pays off purchases below a certain amount. In addition, the Shutoff Balance will automatically stop auto-payments when the balance in a user’s checking account is below a set limit. These two tools entirely automate the credit card process, making it rather difficult to find yourself in debt so long as you’re responsible enough to set these amounts accurately in the first place. In this way, they are reaping all the benefits, the points and cashback, without the risk of overspending. Plus, this app is promoting good spending habits, helping you to track your spending in a way that’s less stressful, but still helpful in terms of learning how to maintain good credit. According to Psillas, “College grads should feel confident when using credit, and by letting them stay on top of their balances, avoid debt and reap all the rewards that credit cards have to offer â€" while practically on auto-pilot â€" Debx will help them build that confidence and feel good about how they spend their money.” So, if this sounds like you and you want to download the app to help build that credit without the hassle, you can download the app from iOS in the iTunes Store for free. (The enrollment process will take you about 90 seconds and the app links with most major credit card lenders.)

Your tutor can work with your strengths and weaknesses and put together a programme for you. These tutorials tend to be the most costly but they're also the most cost-effective.Online tutorials are similar but you're not in the same place as your tutor. Thanks to the internet , webcams, and video conferencing, you can learn a language online. Online tutors tend to charge less than face-to-face tutors because they have fewer outgoings and expenses and can schedule more tutorials each week. Finally, group tutorials include groups of students learning together. If you and a group of friends, such as your travel companions, want to learn some Italian before you go, you can get group tutorials. With each student sharing the cost of the tutor's time, this type of tutorials tends to work out cheaper per person per hour.

3 Ways to Help Kids Learn Spanish (That Make a Difference)

3 Ways to Help Kids Learn Spanish (That Make a Difference) Suzy S. Should kids learn Spanish differently from adults, or does it matter? Find out in this guest post by Honolulu tutor  Jinan B... Weve all heard that children are like sponges and can pick up language very easily. While children do have an incredible capacity to rapidly assimilate information, it’s important to keep in mind the differences in learning languages that exist between children and adults, and how to best make use of language learning for children. The following are some things to keep in mind as you look into introducing your child to the Spanish language. Create the Right Environment Children can absorb information extremely quickly, but it’s important to create a conducive environment for this to happen. Children actually pick up on what the majority language being spoken is (in other words, the language they see the majority of the people around them speaking); sometimes, this can cause resistance in learning a minority language. You can help avoid this by creating lots of immersive environments for children: arrange play dates in which the majority language is Spanish, play music and watch cartoons in Spanish, and otherwise encourage Spanish to be a major language in daily life. You can also deal directly with any resistance by creating games; depending on the age of the child and whether you are also speaking the language, you can establish “Spanish-only” times in which anyone who speaks in English or any other language has to put a dollar in a jar, for example. Making it into a playful competition or game can encourage your child to engage in the foreign language. Use Games and Play Another point to consider regarding how kids learn Spanish is that, while adults often learn best in a focused, one-on-one setting, children often learn best through games, play, and group activities. This means there can be less focus on seriousness and extremely focused goals. In the beginning of learning a language, exposure and play in the language are more important than trying to meet specific benchmarks. Children naturally pick up underlying grammar structures through listening and experimentation, so there is less need for explicit grammar exercises. Be creative, and make as much use of music, books, and any other materials you can find in exploring the Spanish language with your child. Editors Note: Check out Kloo Language Games for a fun way to learn Spanish, French, or Italian! Work With Your Child Lastly, one of the best ways to foster enjoyment in language learning for children is to model this behavior for them. If you don’t already know Spanish but would like your child to learn, what about attending classes with them, or studying independently on your own? This not only illustrates the value to your child, it also helps you to understand the challenges of learning a new language and enables you to engage in mutually beneficial practice with your child in Spanish. As your child progresses in the Spanish language, you can also explore summer programs and consider traveling to a Spanish-speaking country as a family. This is a direct and wonderful way to show your child the benefits of speaking another language; being able to use it while traveling allows you to communicate with some people you otherwise might not be able to, increases your engagement in the culture, and deepens your understanding of the language, culture, and heritage. With these things in mind, you should be well-equipped to help your child learn Spanish. Most importantly, make sure you and your child are having fun exploring language learning, and remember that language learning has lifelong benefits, so it’s well worth the time, energy, and economic investment you are making!
